Clinique Advent Calendar Days: 19-24

Well hello there and Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your last evening of 2017 and you are ready to tackle the challenges of 2018! As promised, here is the last part of the Clinique Advent Calendar 2017.
You can find Part 1 here, Part 2 here and Part 3 here in case you’ve missed them!

Just as last time to make your life easier:

  1. There are 1-2 hashtags at the end of each product’s presentation, so you don’t have to read the whole thing and waste time in case it is not something that interests you.
  2. Also, I have added the aprox value of the item of the calendar but please keep in mind the actual item price and amount is different.
  3. And last but not least, links to .de and .com websites are added, if the products exist, for you to have a deeper look and maybe buy them =)

Day 19: Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser – This cleanser is quite nice and soft but I am uncertain if it’s meant for all skin types or just types 2 and 3. Since I am somewhere in between these types, I can’t unfortunatly just try it and let you know. I did try it though and I really loved the texture it has. First, it’s a very very soft creamy one that later on becomes more mousse-y, and this is where you basically really feel it’s working. I am 99% sure I have used this product before because the texture etc feels very familiar. Would I replace my Cleansing Balm with it? Not right now. I feel the Balm works better on my skin for winter but during the heat and humidity of the summer, I think the cleanser would have better results on my skin. Most likely I’ll swap them then and see what happens!

Day 20: Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum – Again one of those products that I can’t say I can test properly!  Very popular between the ages of 31 to 64 and with very good reviews against wrinkles and age prevention on the Clinique website. It’s quite an expensive product if you ask me (71 euros for 30ml) so maybe it would be wiser to try out a tester and see if that works for you before buying it.

Day 21: Moisture Surge Overnight Mask – Quite hydrating mask BUT… After checking a bit around I see that it has the best results between the ages of 22 and 40. It still has good reviews for older or younger people but these ages were the peak. I quite enjoyed using i, I mostly like that it doesn’t feel oily, not even in the morning but I think it’s not enough by itself. I usually combine it the next morning either with the Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief (if I’m having a good skin day, or with Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator (for my bad days). The Clinique website advises to use it right after Turnaround™ Revitalizing Instant Facial, which is available in the .com website but the .de one leads to error (maybe just something got broken). Anyway, I’m still working on finding the best way to make this one work for me. The .com website also offers different product combinations for different uses of the overnight mask.

Day 22: Clinique Pop Lacquer Lip Colour + Primer – in the colour Cocoa Pop – I know I said on my instagram stories that this ain’t a festive colour for an Advent Calendar, especially not if this is given 2 days before Christmas Eve and I do stand by that but I must admit that I’m using this since then for my daily casual look and I really enjoy it. It also fits quite nicely with the blush that was given on Day 6 but I would have for sure appreciated it more if it was given out in the first week (don’t you want people to ask where this Lip Colour is from and make them buy the Advent Calendar, Clinique?). Just one thing, supposedly this wears up to 6 hours, well, I guess it does if you are… sleeping for 6 hours? To me it stays for an hour max two I’m afraid but that’s fine with me.

Day 23: Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer – I’m not sure if you remember this, but I also got it as a sample from my previous Clinique purchase (Latest Clinique Treasures). I have not really used it much. The blurring effect it’s talking about it’s basically a matifying effect, that is quite pleasant and can also be found in the All About Eyes eye cream from Day 17. I personally would use this product mostly as a primer as I feel it helps my make up stay longer than it actually hydrates my skin. I don’t know but I feel the pep-start line is meant for younger ages.

Day 24: Aromatics in Black Perfume Spray – So, this was day 24, which I did not post on my instagram stories (in case you were wondering if you missed it)- It’s hard to really describe a parfume smeel over a blog so I’ll just say that… again, as with the Lip Colour, I would have prefered this earlier on. This is a product that others call tell you are wearing and will ask you where it’s from, why would anyone put it as the last product of an Advent Calendar? I’m sure there is some sense behind it, I just don’t get it… Did I like it? I would have prefered the Aromatics Elixir to be honest but I won’t complain…

Hang in there people – only 364,5 till 2019!

xoxo,
Emy

Note: the value in euros of the 6/6 items that we could aprox calculate: 50,58
Adding the aprox value of items 1-18: 162,61 + 50,58 = 213,19 (out of total Advent Calendar cost of 74,99)
